Si el prestigiós cuiner manresà fou un avanguardista en la divulgació de la cuina en molts dels seus vessants, sorprèn especialment que ja a començament del segle XX fos sensible als incipients moviments naturalistes que tenien com a objectiu fonamental la millora de la salut de les persones.
