Dins un ribell o recipient gran, la massa es mescla amb sal i pebre bord, fet de prebes de tap de cortí, assecats i triturats. S?hi poden posar altres espècies, com el pebre bo (pebre negre), o alguna herba aromàtica, com el romaní, però no són essencials. La mescla ha de quedar ben homogènia.
