En Salvador, un noi mallorquí de quinze anys, ha de passar les vacances sense la moto que li havia promès el seu pare perquè ha suspès una assignatura, i sense atrevir-se a declarar el seu amor per la Clara, una companya de classe. Però aquest estiu estarà envoltat d'un misteri llunyà: uns missatges que apareixen escrits a llapis sobre la taula de la biblioteca provocaran que en Salvador es replantegi l'enigmàtica desaparició de la seva mare, l'Agnès, quan ell era petit. El misteri s'agreuja quan el seu pare es tanca en banda i sembla amagar un secret inconfessable.
