La seva mort va tenir lloc el mateix dia i uns minuts abans que la del jove anarquista català Salvador Puig Antich, executat a la presó Model de Barcelona. Aquestes van ser les darreres execusions a garrot de la dictadura franquista, una clara revenja del règim després de l'assasinat del president del govern Luis Carrero Blanco per part d'ETA.
