Como reconquistar plásticamente el sentimiento de la presencia del ser en el espacio. Incansablemente Giacometti intentó sublimar el volumen, cada vez más filiforme, y fijar su finitud en lo real. Surgieron entonces las cabezas y los desnudos modelados en el vacío, en esta experiencia de la nada que se oponía a su búsqueda de lo absoluto: toda una metáfora de la condición humana.
