El seu autor, prestigiós advocat, diputat a Corts per Esquerra Republicana de Catalunya i director del diari del seu partit La Humanitat, es trobava el 19 de juliol de 1936 a Mallorca i en va fugir en el iot del seu germà cap a Menorca. Després visqué fins a mitjan 1938 a Barcelona i acabà exiliant-se a París.
