    La presente edición incluye dos apéndices. El primero lo escribió la esposa de José Donoso, María Pilar, se titula El «boom» doméstico y es una mirada íntima y en confianza a ese grupo de escritores hispanoamericanos que tiene escondida mucha pequeña historia.

    El segundo, Diez años después, es del propio Donoso, que mira los restos del estallido y en su eco descubre premios, revoluciones, olvidos, fama y a los herederos de Gabo, Mario, Julio y los otros. Lo que el tiempo se llevó, trajo y quedó; la novela hispanoamericana con su sonido y su furia: «boom».
