Desde el principio se muestra aquí que, para Manganelli, la literatura se remite, como el Género de los Géneros, al viaje a los Infiernos, a la Nekya. De «hadesdestinados» en la Hilarotragoedia se habla mucho, pero porque la palabra misma, la palabra literaria, es para Manganelli, por encima de todo, invitación a traficar con espíritus.
