Las visiones de Johann Paul Friedrich Richter, más conocido como Jean Paul (1763-1825), figura decisiva en la construcción de la literatura alemana, y por extensión de la europea, abrieron como pocas la mente al terror del sinsentido, al espanto de un mundo azaroso y sin finalidad. De ahí la conveniencia de presentarlas como los profesores Fabris y Pöggeler hacen en esta edición, con todo el rigor del marco cultural y reflexivo que no sólo les dio valor en su tiempo, sino que también las hace indispensables en todo debate filosófico (y teológico) que se quiera radical.
