Ja des del calabós, Camats evoca, amb una gran minuciositat, tots els detalls d'una relació particularment autodestructiva. Una relació l'objecte de la qual és una noia pèl-roja, amb aspecte de bruixa i que es converteix en la malaltia, obsessiva, de l'escriptor... i narrador.
