Per tot aquest tresor d'arquitectura i de pintura, la UNESCO la va declarar, al novembre de l'any 2000, "Patrimoni Mundial de la Humanitat". La Vall de Boí té, a més, altres tresors, com són els paisatges i una riquíssima cultura popular.
