Una historia de amor que tiene como telón de fondo el vital proceso que llevo a Salvador Allende a la presidencia de Chile en 1970 y el golpe militar que terminó con su ilusionante proyecto tres años más tarde. Los protagonistas de esta historia íntima, Isabel -una mujer madura- y Jacobo -un joven veinteañero-, inician una relación amorosa cuyas etapas (pasión inicial, recelos, rupturas y reencuentros) se entrelazan con los acontecimientos (campaña electoral de Allende, triunfo en las urnas, golpe militar, represión) de una historia colectiva a la que están irremediablemente ligados.
