Albert Hernàndez ha escrit una novel·la coral en què trena múltiples històries: la vida del Tomàs, un adolescent que vol ser escriptor; la del Manganatto, el nebot del tio Vicent del Teucó, l?home més ric del poble; la de Lambert, que sempre llegeix novel·les de l?Oest; la d?Antoni, que tindrà una aventura amb una dona casada... Albert Hernàndez ha sabut captar la desolació del món sòrdid de la postguerra amb un llenguatge directe i alhora poètic, descabdellant el fil de la història en imatges i seqüències d?una vivesa gairebé cinematogràfica. Temps de fang va guanyar el Premi Modest Sabaté Vila de Perpinyà l?any 1997.
