Tot apunta que serà una escapada plena de diversió, complicitats i amors que comencen, però a la falda del volcà, dins d’un bosc espès, hi ha alguna cosa estranya, una ombra enorme, més gran que un os, que es mou i sembla que els vigili nit i dia.
A poc a poc, els nois aniran descobrint que darrere les tradicions del poble s’hi amaga un secret terrible des de fa generacions. Per sobreviure, els nois posaran a prova la seva amistat i el seu coratge, i hauran d’enfrontar-se a criatures terribles que no podrien imaginar ni en el pitjor dels seus malsons.
