Entre aquests inèdits, La voluntant del rei Krogold és un llibre totalment insòlit: una llegenda èpica medieval, una peça imprescindible cabdal per a l’autor que es coneixia només fragmentàriament en altres novel·les de Céline, i de la qual Joan-Lluís Lluís fa una traducció d'autor.


    La present edició reuneix les dues úniques versions conegudes fins avui de la llegenda, inèdites i desigualment inacabades: l’una, que data de la primera meitat dels anys trenta, La llegenda del rei Renat; l’altra, La voluntat del rei Krogold, escrita entre el 1939 i el 1940.
