Sólo hay un punto de partida y un hecho fundamental: existir. Sólo hay un destino: la libertad. Pero una y otra, existencia y libertad, nos las jugamos con nuestra elección de vida y con cada decisión que tomamos. La vida se enfrenta pues a la responsabilidad y con ésta al compromiso personal. Inmerso en la política de su tiempo y comprometido con ella, Sartre es en definitiva un filósofo de la moral y desde la radical libertad. El ser humano no nace, se hace. Crea con cada acto la moral.
