«Consells als joves escriptors» és el títol de l’article que dona nom a aquest recull de Charles Baudelaire. Textos que parlen de poesia i pintura, d’art clàssic i art modern, de Théophile Gautier, Edgar Allan Poe i Gustave Flaubert, de la veritat i la Bellesa, de París i Londres… però que en realitat, en el fons, tracten tots d’un sol individu: el mateix Charles Baudelaire.
El present volum recupera la selecció que va preparar Jordi Llovet per a la mítica col·lecció «Biblioteca d’Idees Literàries» de l’editorial Columna fa gairebé trenta anys, i que avui era pràcticament introbable. Aquests textos van ser prologats i traduïts (i ara revisats) amb tanta cura com desimboltura per Lluís M. Todó, un dels nostres millors traductors de les últimes dècades.
