    En 1951, la revista Life publicó un reportaje sobre la España rural que incluía una fotografía de la joven Josefa Larra. Solo con ver la imagen, el americano Charles H. Calusdian se enamoró de ella. Su historia causó un gran revuelo en el pueblo y comprometieron para siempre el futuro de Josefa.

    Charles loves Josefa es un retrato vívido de la posguerra que refleja dos momentos socioeconómicos distintos entre Estados Unidos y España, pero, sobre todo, constituye un alegato por la autonomía y libertad de Josefa.
