Scauri no és un poble ni bonic ni lleig, però té la seva pròpia gràcia. És aquí on es muda la Vittoria als anys setanta, amb la Mara. Hi ha qui diu que l’ha adoptada, hi ha qui diu que l’ha raptada. Es diuen tantes coses... Ningú al poble no entén la Vittoria, però, alhora, la gent se’n sent atreta.
Un dia, la Vittoria apareix morta a la banyera. El poble ho accepta, perquè sap entendre les desgràcies, i calla. Però la Lea Russo, no. La Lea és advocada, té un marit, dues filles i una vida plena d’obligacions. Sempre ha estat fascinada per la Vittoria, per això es proposarà entendre qui era de debò.
La Lea descobrirà les passions, les inquietuds, les veritats i els enigmes, els silencis del present i els ressons del passat: tot es mou sempre, tot pot canviar sempre. A Qui diu i qui calla res no està quiet.
