Sin saber qué cosa es, Conejo decide ayudarlo cavando un segundo agujero a su lado. Otros animales van pasando y la escena se vuelve a repetir. Y todos se unen a la búsqueda, sin saber muy bien qué puede ser esa cosa anhelada. Entre todos llegan a la conclusión de que tiene que ser «¡una cosa bonita, una cosa brillante, una cosa grande!».
