Tierra excavada es un cómic que narra la historia real de madres chilenas cuyos hijos les fueron arrebatados en el nacimiento. Se basa en más de cien horas de entrevistas y conversaciones con víctimas y revisiones de una gran cantidad de documentos. En 2020, la autora recibió una beca del Swedish Arts Grants para viajar a Chile donde debía entrevistar a madres chilenas y tomar fotografías dereferencia, pero el viaje fue cancelado debido a la pandemia de Covid. En lugar de eso, realizó las entrevistas online.
