Catálogo de la exposición inaugurada en el Museo Nacional de Arte de Cataluña el 16 de noviembre de 2007 (del 16-11-2007 al 10-2-2008), que hace un recorrido po r la península Ibérica a través de 124 fotografías, la mayoría de las cuales rea lizadas por el galés Robert P. Napper, que retrató numerosos lugares de España, Portugal y Gibraltar por encargo de la sociedad Francis Frith & Co., y que fue a demás pionero en la representación realista de la figura humana. La muestra perm ite descubrir a este fotógrafo, al que nunca se ha dedicado una exposición, anal iza una forma de trabajar -por delegación- bastante habitual en la fotografía de l siglo XIX, y presenta los inicios del fotodocumentalismo.
