Aquest estudi examina de manera integrada quins camins comencen a prendre, a esc ala mundial, continental, estatal i/o nacional, una sèrie de processos que s'est an donant en el moment històric "glocal" -global i local alhora- que vivim: la g lobalització tecnoeconòmica, la construcció d'entitats polítiques supraestatals i els nous moviments migratoris. Els resultats indiquen una tendència a la polig lotització en països freqüentment monolingües, fet que augmentarà amb els nous m oviments migratoris massius. L'estudi incideix, a mode de conclusió, en la neces sitat d'afavorir la comunicació inter-nacional, l'adaptació lingüística dels des plaçats i la creació d'identitats mútuament compartides.
