Quan apareixen misteriosos portals negres en diversos llocs del món, incloent un a Barcelona, tota la tecnologia en un radi d’un quilòmetre i mig s’ensorra. Els governs envien els seus millors científics i militars per resoldre el misteri. Però què poden fer quan no recorden res després de creuar els portals? Una soldada, Olga, el Nil, un jove amb TEA, i la seva mare, una cambrera, són reclutats pel govern per investigar. Per què ells? Hauran de col·laborar amb científics i altres persones amb percepcions úniques per aventurar-se en els portals. En entrar reviuran episodis de les seves vides que els han marcat profundament. Junts, es veuran embolicats en una cursa entre governs per desxifrar el fenomen i protegir el futur de la humanitat.
