Ho sabem tot, sobre el foc? Després de molts anys d’estudis i recerca i després de l’anàlisi de molts incendis, ens pensem que sí. Però no és així. Hi ha tota una altra dimensió en el foc, un altre món, que la nostra societat tecnològica desconeix. El darrer foc explora un enigmàtic fenomen que pot aparèixer en les flames i que serà investigat pels protagonistes de la novel·la. Un seguit d’inquietants fets, primer a Barcelona en el marc d’una recerca aplicada a la protecció contra incendis i després en un antiquíssim poble situat al cor de les muntanyes Karkas, a l’Iran, els enfrontaran als límits del foc i de la vida mateixa.
