El radar americano es un documental visual y de investigación histórica sobre arte, arquitectura y diseño construido a partir de la biografía y el archivo personal del arquitecto, artista y galerista Lanfranco Bombelli (Milán, 1921-Cadaqués, 2008). Desde la microhistoria se narra e interpreta la historia de la construcción cultural europea bajo el modelo del racionalismo moderno y la vanguardia artística, cuando vuelve, tras la victoria de los aliados después de la Segunda Guerra Mundial y en el marco de la Guerra Fría, con la intervención publicitaria del sistema político y económico norteamericano. Son cuatro los escenarios: I Las bombas, la reconstrucción y el resurgimiento. Milán-Zúrich, 1940-1950. II Visual Information for US in Europe en el Plan Marshall en el marco de la Guerra Fría. París, 1950-1961. III El deshielo. Cadaqués-Barcelona, 1959-1971. IV Internacionalismo local. Cadaqués, 1971-1982.
