El radar americà és un documental visual i d'investigació històrica sobre art, arquitectura i disseny construït a partir de la biografia i l'arxiu personal de l'arquitecte, artista i galerista Lanfranco Bombelli (Milà, 1921-Cadaqués, 2008). Des de la microhistòria s'assaja de narrar i interpretar la història de la construcció cultural europea seguint el model del racionalisme modern i l'avantguarda artística, quan retorna, en la victòria dels aliats després de la Segona Guerra Mundial i en el marc de la Guerra Freda, amb la intervención publicitària del sistema polític i econòmic nord-americà. Quatre són els escenaris: I Les bombes, la reconstrucción i el ressorgiment. Milà-Zuric, 1940-1950. II Visual Information for US in Europe al Pla Marshall i en el marc de la Guerra Freda. París, 1950-1961. III El desglaç. Cadaqués-Barcelona, 1959-1971. IV Internacionalisme local. Cadaqués, 1971-1982.
