Las "Federaciones Regionales Anarquistas" fueron el primer intento conocido de agrupación y coordinación de los grupos anarquistas españoles durante las primerias del siglo XX. Sus inicios concretos se iniciarían a finales del año 1912 y terminarian en el año 1923, abarcando geograficamente a la mayor parte de las regiones españolas, con especial incidencia en Cataluña, Andalucía, Comunidad Valenciana y el País Vasco. Su periplo histórico como organismos estables de coordinación entre los grupos anarquistas en nuestro país fue oscilante, con momentos de proyección destacada y también con otros períodos de recesión y dificultades organizativas. Sin ninguna duda se puede afirmar fehacientemente que las "Federaciones Regionales Anarquistas" fueron el antecedente organizativo histórico más inmediato al nacimiento de la FAI ocurrida en el año 1927.
