Publicado en Londres en 1888 por la editorial David Nutt, El Príncipe Feliz y otros cuentos de Oscar Wilde, con ilustraciones de Walter Crane y Jacomb Hood, viene recibiendo las mejores críticas desde hace más de un siglo. Obra fascinante y magnética, que año tras año se reedita en tantas lenguas porque fue un clásico instantáneo y sigue siéndolo.
Aunque apenas se consiguen ejemplares de aquella primera edición de finales del siglo XIX, de apenas setenta y cinco ejemplares firmados por el autor y el editor, es esa joya bibliográfica la que siguió Libros del Zorro Rojo de manera fiel para la edición en castellano del 2013, que ahora reeditamos.
Además del cuento que titula la selección, esta recoge, «El ruiseñor y la rosa», «El gigante egoísta», «El amigo fiel» y «El cohete extraordinario», traducidos por Julio Gómez de la Serna.
