Una cinquentena d'espectadors de teatre de 25 països van ser convidats, amb motiu del I Congrés Internacional d’Espectadors de Teatre organitzat per Àfora Focus del 24 i el 26 d’octubre de 2022 al Teatre Romea de Barcelona a redactar i consensuar un manifest dels espectadors de teatre que recollís les seves necessitats, els seus neguits, les seves declaracions i els seus desitjos respecte del seu rol en el futur de les arts escèniques. El text resultant, en format de Manifest, va ser llegit pel mateix grup d'espectadors com a cloenda del Congrés.
