Historia de un taxi es el primer argumento cinematográfico que escribió la poeta Concha Méndez. Mientras la ciudad de Madrid duerme en sombras, un grupo de taxis aparcados cobran vida y comienzan a charlar para ponerse al día. Cuando le llega su turno el de mayor rango relata la aventura surgida entre Fernando y Carmen, que, por puertas diferentes, coinciden en tomar el mismo taxi. Su historia será la de un divertidísimo ensueño vanguardista, de tintes freudianos, que pasa del clásico enredo donde el galán no recuerda a la dama y culmina con el travestismo.
