Ara treballo amb mestres que creuen en l'escola com a casa de lectura.» Així comença Mar Esteve Ràfols una reflexió sobre l'experiència lectora, que parteix dels autors que l'han ajudat a entendre què és llegir: C. S. Lewis, Hans-Georg Gadamer, Harold Bloom, George Steiner i Martha Nussbaum. D'ells va aprendre que llegir és rebre, entrar en un diàleg, inventar, sentir, pensar... Però no es comença a llegir quan s'aprèn a desxifrar les lletres; sinó quan algú ens explica una història i ens emociona. I és aquí que l'escola hi té un paper fonamental.
