No només 'Moby Dick', sinó també narracions com «Bartleby, l’escrivent» han estat traduïdes, editades i aplaudides moltes vegades en la nostra llengua, però textos tan impor...
Poques obres han influït tant i han anticipat tan bé la narrativa moderna i contemporània com ho ha fet la de Herman Melville. No només 'Moby Dick', sinó també narracions com «Bartleby, l’escrivent» han estat traduïdes, editades i aplaudides moltes vegades en la nostra llengua, però textos tan importants com «La veranda», «Els dos temples» o «El campanar» ens han passat massa desapercebuts. Amb els contes hi teníem, doncs, una assignatura pendent. Aquí en reunim vuit d’imprescindibles, més un poema i una carta. Més enllà de l’escrivent hi ha un Melville plural, melangiós i tragicòmic, inèdit fins ara en català, que per fi podem apreciar.
