Però el camí no fou fàcil i durant els anys de realització d’aquesta obra es produïren enfrontaments entre els propietaris de l’editorial i alguns treballadors a causa d’endarreriments del treball, nombrosos acomiadaments o decisions econòmiques i editorials errònies. Però la convicció i voluntat d’uns i altres d’estar fent quelcom rellevant per a Catalunya va fer possible la comesa i que hagi perdurat tants anys.
