S’hi recollien vint-i-dos poemes, entre els quals, els sis de Les flors del mal prohibits judicialment, i uns quants més de primera categoria. Les despulles no s’ha publicat mai en català com a llibre separat. La nostra edició respecta la voluntat i les instruccions de Baudelaire i ofereix fidedignament al públic una obra singular d’un dels més grans creadors de la poesia europea moderna.
