A Una casa fosca i un flagell, Bastida forma part d’una colla d’il·luminats per l’antipsiquiatria que organitzen un viatge lisèrgic a Saint-Alban a la recerca del seu guru. Abans de les dues històries, Daniel era el mateix individu, però les conseqüències d’un afer amb la seva germanastra, depenent de com el paeixi i se l’expliqui a si mateix, podien derivar en aquestes dues vides alternatives.
