L’obra s’inicia amb l’estrena vital de l’autor, prossegueix amb el món dels infants, continua amb el món dels adults i acaba amb les noves realitats que constitueix la migració. Amb un estil directe i poètic, ple d’ironia, sarcasme i tendresa, l’autor fa una rememoració vivíssima d’una gent que ha deixat un testimoni històric que, si bé és minúscul per la seva dimensió geogràfica, és ineludible a l’hora de traçar els esquemes fonamentals del tarannà del país.
