Paula Casal es Investigadora ICREA de ética y filosofía política y profesora de la Universidad Pompeu Fabra de Barcelona desde fines del 2008. Antes trabajó en las universidades de Keele, Harvard, Oxford, Reading, Louvain-la-Neuve y Stanford, obteniendo numerosos premios de investigación. Es co-directora del UPF Center for Animal Ethics, editora asociada de las revistas Politics, Philosophy & Economics (PPE) y Law, Ethics and Philosophy (IEAP) y Presidente de Academics Stand Against Poverty-España ASAP) y Proyecto Gran Simio-España. Normalmente publica en inglés en revistas académicas internacionales sobre justicia social y global, bioética, género, multiculturalismo, evolucionismo y ética animal. En castellano, es coautora de una monografía sobre impuestos ecológicos para combatir el cambio climático y la pobreza, Un reparto más justo del planeta (Trotta, Madrid, 2016).
