Paolo Gasparini (Gorizia, Italia, en 1934, residente en Venezuela desde 1954), es el fotógrafo que mejor ha retratado las tensiones y contradicciones culturales del continente sur americano.La exposición y el catálogo que presenta Fundación MAPFRE hacen un recorrido por la trayectoria de este artista, seis décadas de carrera fotográfica en la que realiza un itinerario por diversas urbes mutantes: Caracas, La Habana, Sao Paulo, México, pero también con resonancias en Múnich, París, Madrid o Londres.El catálogo cuenta con ensayos de, comisaria de la exposición, Horacio Fernández, Antonio Muñoz Molina y Juan Villoro así como con una biografía del artista por Sagrario Berti.
