Vicent Alonso agrupa dues sèries de poemes escrits en temps diferents amb el propòsit d'aprofundir en un món poètic que, com va escriure Enric Sòria, «és una auscultació perplexa i alhora una contínua apel·lació als sentits.» I entre les dues, els «Fragments sobre l'absència», un homenatge a Pinazo en forma de diàleg amb cinc de les seves pintures, que reflecteix alhora el diàleg del pintor i el del poeta amb la pintura i la poesia, un joc de miralls escrit en clau autobiogràfica.
