La petita Lily (convertida en Lily Megamosca) i els seus tres recents amics, la marieta Rita, l'escarabat piloter Claus i el cuc de hort Fidelia, s'han refugiat al bosc perquè el gran coleòpter banyut Gorgo i les seves hosts de bestioles gegants ja dominen la ciutat. Volen esclavitzar a la humanitat i enderrocar tot el que aquesta hagi construït en segles de civilització. Lily ha de trobar la seva mare, presa dels invasors, i salvar l'avi que ha caigut en mans de Gorgo i que ara és el seu majordom i cuiner. Per a això ha de armar-se de valor i organitzar amb els seus amics una incursió dins el campament invasor, espiar els seus moviments i idear un pla reeixit. Però no serà fàcil perquè Gorgo és un enemic molt més astut, poderós i cruel del que ningú ha advertit fins al moment.
