Es tracta d'una antologia que exclou les cinc obres més conegudes i emblemàtiques de Guimerà -Mar i cel, Maria Rosa, La festa del blat, Terra baixa i La filla del mar- per donar una perspectiva més àmplia d'unes peces que han estat negligides i que, algunes, podrien ara trobar el seu moment.
