Reconocido mundialmente por su novela "Zama" -traducida a más de veinte lenguas- su publicación en inglés en 2016 significó la consagración definitiva de esta novela. Recientemente fue llevada al cine por la premiada directora Lucrecia Martel, lo cual significo un impulso adicional para dar a conocer la obra de uno de los autores centrales de la literatura latinoamericana del siglo XX.
