La literatura fantàstica catalana existeix des de fa molt de temps, però no n’érem conscients i Emili Olcina ens va obrir els ulls amb la seva antologia, que ara es reedita amb un pròleg actualitzat. Difícilment hauríem pogut arribar a l’actual moment d’or de la literatura fantàstica catalana, amb la superació de timideses i de prevencions, sense el llibre que ens va descobrir la nostra tradició. Totes les antologies que han vingut després li són deutores. Considerem-lo, doncs, com un clàssic, en ell mateix una peça insubstituïble del fantàstic català, fixat en el temps i alhora font de noves aproximacions. Tornem-hi a entrar per gaudir de l’esgarrifança deliciosa, com en deia Joan Perucho, i per abocar-nos al vertigen de la modernitat que la literatura fantàstica inaugura.
