Amb Croquis del natural s'inicia la publicació de la nova Biblioteca Narcís Oller, que té la voluntat de tornar a posar a l'abast del públic en general totes les obres sorgides de la imaginació fèrtil i de la ploma versàtil de l'escriptor considerat com el pare de la novel·la catalana moderna. Publicada per primera vegada el 1879, aquesta opera prima d'Oller en català, està formada per quatre contes amb evidents traces realistes: "El vailet del pa", "Tres mesos de món", "Els que ho miren i els que hi van" i "El transplantat".
