Entre els anys vuitanta i començaments dels noranta del segle passat, Hilda Hist va escriure el que sovint s’anomena «la trilogia de narrativa obscena», formada per O caderno rosa de Lori Lamby (1990), Contos d’escárnio. Textos grotescos (1991) i Cartas de um seductor (1990). A aquestes obres s’hi afegeix de vegades Bufólicas (1992) –formant el llibre pòstum Porno Chic (2002)–, però en altres ocasions també A obscena senhora D (1982).
Narrativa obscena agrupa per primera vegada en català una representació diversa de la producció «obscena» de Hilda Hilst.
