L’“Inventari il·lustrat de les fruites i les hortalisses” reuneix un centenar de delicioses i nutritives mossegades: plantes comestibles que es poden prendre crues o cuinades. Fruits, tiges, bulbs, arrels, llavors, fulles, flors… fins i tot productes -com els tes, cafès, melmelades o xocolates- que s’obtenen a partir de les seves matèries primeres. Tampoc falten espècies, fongs i algues. N’hi ha vegetals tan comuns com el raïm o les patates i tan exòtics com la carambola o amb noms ben originals com la cara bruta. Aquesta obra, sota la supervisió científica de la doctora en enginyeria agrònoma Paule Lacroix, permet distingir entre el concepte botànic de la planta i el terme culinari que sorgeix de la seva elaboració per al consum humà. I sobretot, contribueix a reivindicar la biodiversitat, la sostenibilitat i l’alimentació saludable.
