El llibre recull per primer cop el treball de disseny i construcció d’imatgeria festiva (dracs, gegants, capgrossos i bestiari festiu divers) dels tallers Sarandaca, Ventura&Hosta i Dolors Sans. Presenta les biografies, l’evolució dels tallers i les seves opinions sobre la festa popular mitjançant entrevistes en profunditat. S’exposen de manera detallada les tècniques i els materials de construcció. Completa el llibre un inventari dels aproximats 1.000 elements construïts pels tres tallers fins l’any 2018. També proposa una reflexió sobre la festa des d’una perspectiva etnogràfica, folklòrica i sociològica, amb articles de Bienve Moya, Amadeu Carbó, Xavier Cordomí, Paco Cruz i Jo Farb Hernández. Està il·lustrat amb 270 imatges, la majoria inèdites, de la imatgeria festiva dels tres escultors de la festa.
