La búsqueda de una madre y una nueva investigación para el agente de la Interpol y la forense, que los llevará desde La Rinconada, en Perú, hasta Madrid.Una madre llega a la inhóspita localidad de La Rinconada en busca de su hija tras recibir un e-mail anónimo según el cual Ángela María, desaparecida dieciséis años atrás, podría estar allí. Mientras tanto, el agente de la Interpol Thomas Connors recibe una llamada de la mujer de su amigo George, que le informa del secuestro de su marido. Como rescate solo piden que se les entregue a una mujer: Dolores Menchero. Thomas recurre a su amiga Laura Terraux para pedirle ayuda y los dos parten hacia Perú.
