«Hace muchos años mi padre, conociendo mi afición a escribir, me sugirió que escribiera una biografía de Isaac Albéniz. Echaba de menos alguna que resaltara el lado humano de su abuelo, que a él le resultaba fascinante. Le dije que no, sobre todo porque mis conocimientos musicales eran muy limitados y me parecían imprescindibles para afrontar un reto de esta naturaleza. Hace dos años realicé un mural de cuatro metros de altura en el Museo Isaac Albéniz de Camprodón, que consistía en un collage fotográfico con 56 imágenes de la vida y el entorno del compositor. Y a partir de ese trabajo surgió de manera natural este relato, de palabra y de imagen, a través de los recuerdos de la familia».
